About Paul David Wadler

Dr. P.D. Wadler is a licensed clinical Ph.D. psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy.  He maintains a private practice in Chicago, Illinois.

With over 20 years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, he holds graduate degrees from the University of Texas and from Harvard University specializing in psychodynamic therapy and spiritual issues.  He currently is a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.  Among his areas of expertise are LGBT individuals, couples, people with HIV/AIDS, and people who want to develop their spiritual life.

Dr. Wadler is a relationship therapist who has received advanced training in the Gottman method and is working toward certification as a Gottman therapist.  He has given presentations at national conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of gay men and intimate relationships. He served the Unitarian Universalist Association as Vice-Chair of their national credentialing body, the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (2003-2012)  and is the current Chair of the Accreditation Committee of the Ministerial Development Council, an interdenominational network of accredited centers providing resources for both ordained and lay religious leadership across the United States and Canada. 

As an interactive, solution-focused therapist, Dr. Wadler's approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.  He integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.  With compassion and understanding, he works with each individual to help that person build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
